There are a variety of different kinds of weapons in the world of Destiny 2. Many players want to find the best weapons for their characters. How to Obtain The Whisper of The Worm Catalyst in Destiny 2

Whisper of the Worm is a Heavy sniper rifle with the White Nail intrinsic perk, which refills its magazine upon rapidly landing three precision hits. The weapon also has Mulligan, which has a chance of refilling a shot if it misses, synergizing with the weapon’s core premise of sustained precision damage.

To get the catalyst, players must have the weapon unlocked first. Players who don’t have the Whisper of The Worm yet can obtain it from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower. The catalyst itself can be unlocked by completing any of the three core activities. This includes Strikes, Crucible, and Gambit activities. Many players have reported high drop rates for catalyst after Nightfall completions in the Strikes Playlist. The Whisper catalyst is a random loot drop from these sources, so players will have to be lucky to get it to drop. Once you've finished the Whisper of the Worm quest, you'll unlock the opportunity to get its Exotic Catalyst. The Catalyst gives you the Box Breathing perk which boosts damage after aiming for a short period of time.

If you complete The Whisper quest on Heroic, you'll actually power up the Catalyst. There's a cap on this power boost of up to around 36% per week. You gain around 12% per mission completion and 2% per hidden chest. That's right, you can find hidden chests scattered throughout the mission.

Oracles from the Vault of Glass Destiny 1 Raid feature too. These are spawned when you find hidden chests and you'll need to shoot them in a specific order to unlock an 'Enigmatic Bluepoint' ship schematic.

Pair this up with its already Intrinsic perk, White Nail, which boosts its precision damage by default and refills the magazine after three precision shots, and players have quite the damage weapon on their hands. The gun also has a more niche Mulligan perk, which has the chance to return ammo to the weapon when players miss a shot.

After players obtain the Whisper of The Worm' catalyst from playlist activities, they'll have to get 500 kills with the weapon in order to activate it. This catalyst can be very tedious to complete considering the Whisper of The Worm is a heavy sniper rifle that takes heavy ammo. So, it's best to stock up on raid banners and head to the Shuro Chi checkpoint of Destiny 2's Last Wish Raid in the Dreaming City to farm the catalyst objective.
