The Origin has a total of four quests for you to complete and every quest will last for either two or four days. In order to proceed to the next quest, you will need to have completed the previous quest and so on.

To get the Secret Sledge Pickaxe in Fortnite, you’ll need to complete all the quests The Origin has for you in the Zero Build Mode. Every quest is only available for a limited time, so make sure to perform every Covert Ops quest before the time runs out.

Then every two days a new phase will begin, and if you get through all three stages, you'll receive the Secret Sledge Pickaxe. Covert Ops Quest 3

Establish a Device Uplink in Zero Build at Tilted Towers, The Daily Bugle, Rocky Reels, Condo Canyon, or Coney Crossroads

Covert Ops Quest 4

Establish a Device Uplink in Zero Build at Tilted Towers, Rocky Reels, Command Cavern, or The Fortress

Plant timed explosives at an IO Airship, Command Caven, or The Fortress in Zero Build (1)

Quest 4 will go live on April 30 at 9am ET and run until May 2 at 9am ET.

Once you speak to The Origin, who you can find on the map, you’ll be tasked to take on a variety of different quests for them, and upon completion of the fourth and final quest, you’ll unlock the Secret Sledge Pickaxe. Those that have been playing will notice that this is a reskin of the Sledge Pickaxe that came out with the John Wick set, but a free item can never be frowned upon.

In order to earn the free Secret Sledge pickaxe, you’ll need to complete all four Covert Ops Quests.

The next stage of the Covert Ops Quests won’t unlock unless you’ve completed the previous one, so you’ll need to keep on top of them all as the days go by or you’ll risk missing out on that free reward.
