How to Play the Hunter/Hunted Mode in Fallout 76

PS4 Games   Xbox One Games   PC Games   The Hunter/Hunted Mode   2019-01-28 08:51:51
Despite negative reviews from fans, the Hunter/Hunted mode is one the most popular mode in Fallout 76. It is essentially a variation on a classic manhunt mode, with players hunting eachother down one by one to be the last person standing. It can be a tricky mode to win, but the rewards are great. For those uninitiated, in this guide, we’ll show you how the Hunter/Hunted mode work in Fallout 76 and how to access it. So, keep on reading.

The Hunter Mode

How the Hunter/Hunted mode work in Fallout 76

The new Hunter/Hunted mode takes a couple aspects from Battle Royale style games and mixes them with the gameplay of Manhunt from Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer. It’s more of a manhunt mode, in which five players are each given someone to hunt down. When at least four players have joined, targets are assigned out and players can begin the hunt. Over time, the Hunt zone decreases, essentially pushing everyone still alive closer together. Eliminating a target gives the player a new person to track down until the last person is standing. Getting at least one kill rewards XP and Caps, with bonuses for each additional kill.

Outside of this PvP mode, players will need to agree to fight one another for a true PvP experience. Simply shooting another player has a minimal effect on them and ultimately killing a person who does not want conflict will bring down harsh penalties on the offending player. When both players return fire, the duel begins. After a PvP related death, the losing player can seek revenge, which spawns them in the general vicinity of their killer with PvP still enabled. Successfully taking revenge awards the player with bonus caps promised at their original death to the other player. On the other hand, selecting Respawn ends the PvP conflict, lets the player choose the area to respawn, and disables all hostilities with other players.

How To Access Hunter/Hunted In Fallout 76

Unlocking Hunter/Hunted mode in Fallout 76 is pretty straightforward. Here are two steps you should follow to access the mode. First, open up the Radio Tab in your Pip-boy. Then select the Hunter/Hunted Station. Then you will be able to initiate quest and you will be dropped in a lobby where you will wait for other players to join. How much you’re awarded will depend on how far you got, with bonuses added on as a reward for kills (up to six kills maximum). The haul can be pretty significant, and if you’re good enough, Hunter/Hunted is a really great way of making caps.

Fallout 76 Hunter/Hunted Tips

We’ve listed some general tips for surviving Hunter/Hunted mode below. They mostly involve sneaking and shooting, so be sure to study up before you head into battle.
Stock up - make sure you have a healthy stock of ammo and Stimpaks before you head in.
Perks - customize and gear your Perks towards shooting and health regen.
Turn off your Pip Boy light - it will quickly give you away in darker environments.
