Apex Legends War Games - Second Chance Game Mode
The first game mode for the War Games event is Second Chance, which will run from April 13 to 15. Second Chance gives every player in the game one free respawn. The first time a player is killed, they'll drop back into the game above the spot of their death, retaining all the loot they would have otherwise lost. Apex Legends already lets players get another chance at victory, but this will let them do so without teammates delivering their banners to a respawn beacon.
 
Apex Legends War Games - Ultra Zones Game Mode
Then after that, the "Ultra Zones" game mode will go live which adds multiple Hot Zones in a single map instead of the usual one. For newcomers to Apex Legends, Hot Zones are areas on each map that contain the rarest loot for players to grab. Each Hot Zone in this new mode will also be enveloped in a Flash Point, a big glowing dome that replenishes your HP and shield.
 
Apex Legends War Games - Auto Banners Game Mode
Auto Banners is the third of five modes highlighted in the trailer. Teammate banners are automatically picked up in this mode. After a teammate has fallen, the need to retrieve their player banner is gone. Finding a respawn beacon is the only mission. During this takeover, there will be even more Mobile Respawn Beacons available as ground loot than usual.
 
Apex Legends War Games - Killing Time Game Mode
Killing Time will follow on April 23rd, and it'll make the ring close in a little bit faster every time a player dies. Without a doubt, this mode sounds the most stressful.
 
Apex Legends War Games - Armor Regen Game Mode
Finally, between April 23rd and the end of the event, the Armor Regen mode will take over. Another simple one: if you take any damage, your armour will slowly regenerate over time. The interesting part about this one is that shield cells aren’t in the loot pool, so you’ll have to hide behind a rock or something to see if your shields are destroyed.
 
The War Games event is looking to end Apex Legends Season 8 with some excitement before Season 9 brings Titanfall content to the game. Each game mode will end "during mornings, PT time" on their respective end dates.
