Fortnite patch notes V.7.40 is now live on various Fortnite platforms, bringing us a bunch of new additions and changes. Among those new tweaks, the addition of another new weapon catches everyone’s eyeballs. It is a new type of gun called the Infantry Rifle. So far, Epic Games didn’t reveal more details of how it works and how to handle it. Besides, there are  a number of balance and gameplay adjustments it is implementing with the 7.40 update. When Is The V7.40 Update Coming Out?
 
The highly anticipated v7.40 patch is due to be released on February 13 after initially being announced for the 12th. The exact release time has not yet been confirmed.
 
Unusually major patches are released earlier in the day than Content Updates. So, players can download those new updates at around 09:00 GMT (04:00 EST, 01:00 PST).
 
What’s New In The V7.40 Update?

New Weapon: Infantry Rifle
 
Out of everyone’s expectation, Fortnite decides to add a brand new weapon called “Infantry Rifle”to the game. The weapon was revealed in the in-game 'Message of the Day' announcement screen and it contains the following description: "Infantry Rifle - Classic design meets new combat style.”
 
As you can see in the above image, the new gun very much resembles the Hunting Rifle in that it features the classic wooden outer texture that can be found on many traditional and old-school rifles. While it does share a similar design with the Hunting Rifle, it's unlikely to be a Sniper Rifle, especially since the two weapons would essentially be identical in their function.  Many players guess that  the weapon will be Fortnite's version of the M1 Garand, a bulky and powerful semi-automatic rifle used during World War II. Additionally, the blue background shown in the announcement image strongly suggests that there will be a Rare version of this new weapon, although it's unclear how many other variants there will be. The Return Of Weapon: Crossbow “ Triumphant” 
 
Aside from a new gun, to celebrate the approaching of Valentine of 2019, the patch V7.40 also features the return of the Cupid’ s Crossbow. This Cupid’ s Crossbow will be unvaulted for a limited time. So, soon players can eliminate their opponents with stealth and precision.
 
The Crossbow fires Arrows, which are an unlimited ammo type and could be found from floor loot and treasure chests. This weapon comes in both Rare and Epic variants and isn’t expected to be around for long.
 
New Tweaks Of Rocket Launchers
 
Another big piece of Fortnite patch 7.40 will be thetweaks of Rocket Launchers. Rocket Launchers will also be receiving some major tweaks in the February 12 patch.
 
For starters, the powerful explosives will now take significantly longer to reload (increasing from 2.52 seconds to 3.24 seconds). However, the bigger change comes in the form of them no longer being found in loot chests!
 
Moreover, Fortnite is also making a change to move Rocket Launchers out of chests - though they'll still be in Supply Drops (and a little more available there than they are now) and Vending Machines.
 
Additionally, ere are some others changes in the upcoming patch notes V7.40.
 
1. Planes will no longer be able to smash through structures
2. Zipline interact prompt added, and using a Zipline will grant fall damage immunity
3. Hand Cannon structure damage reduced from 150 to 100
4. Turbo Build delay decreased from 0.15s to 0.0
5. Added the ability to crouch while in Edit Mode
