According to the most recent tweets on Pokemon Go Twitter account, it seems that PvP Trainer Battles are coming to Pokémon Go. it’s an integral part of the traditional Pokémon experience, and it is something that Niantic and The Pokemon Company have teased for so long that many appear shocked it's finally happening. At the moment, the game developer hasn’t share any details on when they would arrive or how they would operate. At the moment, Now, only a new screenshot shared on the official Pokemon Go Twitter account which you can see below gives us our first glimpse at them.

 
The image, which you can see below, should look immediately familiar to anyone who has played a mainline Pokemon game. It shows a rival player standing at the opposite end of a battle arena, with a designated spot for each trainer's Pokemon in the middle of the field.
 
Teams during Trainer Battles will be limited to three Pokemon, and players can build their parties ahead of time (like preparing a Battle Party for raid battles) to have pre-selected groups.
 
In additional Tweets, Niantic, revealed that Trainer Battles will be available for players to participate in with ranks including Great, Ultra, and Master. CP limits will be in place for each tier, beginning with a 1,500 CP limit for Pokemon used in the Great League. The Ultra League will have a limit that's a thousand points higher. Finally, the Master League will test players skill to the limit, imposing no CP limit at all. That suggests that at least some strategy will be required to be successful in those battles. At the same time, Niantic says that there will be mechanics in place to make the feature accessible to everybody. Unfortunately, the above are we know at the moment. There’s a real lack of information right now. We don’t know when it will be released or how it will work actually. In traditional Pokemon titles, the fights are turn-based and players choose which actions their creatures take. In Pokemon Go, battles have generally been more akin to an action RPG with little input from users.
 
PvP is one of those traditional Pokémon features that players have wanted since day one. Pokémon Go developer Niantic has promised that it’s working on this and other multiplayer modes for the game, and it has made good on this promise several times over since launch. First we got gym battles that players can participate in together (even if they’re not much like the gym battles we know from the Pokémon RPGs); this year, we finally got trading.
 
PvP remains the most obvious holdout. We don’t know how soon battling other players is coming to Pokémon Go, just that it will be soon. Luckily, we won't have to wait much longer to learn more. Niantic says Trainer Battles will roll out for Pokemon Go "soon" and that additional details are also on the way.
